Hermes Makes Diamond-Encrusted Kelly Bags

Hermes is known for their exorbitantly priced handbags but their latest creation, worth a staggering $2 million, certainly takes the cake.

The famed brand commissioned celebrated accessory designer Pierre Hardy to design a limited edition handbag featuring 1,160 diamonds, but wait for the kicker—it’s not even a real bag! The miniature Kelly-style bag with gold crocodile scales is meant to be worn as a bracelet, with a rose-gold handle for around the wrist.

“We are a little crazy here,” says Hermes CEO, Patrick Thomas. “I have no idea [who will buy the piece] but maybe they will have two bodyguards! But there’s no doubt these bags will be bought.”

The miniature Kelly bags took Hardy two years to design (they’re so small that they won’t even fit a pair of sunglasses). There are four versions of the bags and each one will only be produced three times.
